Lion Lake – South Lion Lake Picnic Area
Lion Lake is located on West Side Road or NF-895 — the road that leads to Hungry Horse Reservoir. The West Side Road can be found on the east side of Hungry Horse, off Highway Two. Lion Lake provides two entrances, with lake access at both locations. Enjoy Lion Lake on a sunny afternoon by fishing, swimming, picnicking, or hiking the mild trail around the Lake.
Lake Five – Paul’s Memorial Fishing Access
Lake Five is named by its Roman Numeral V-shape, which can be seen from the air. But, you don’t have to take a Glacier helicopter tour to enjoy Lake Five, just drive to Paul’s Memorial Fishing Access on Belton Stage Road. With beautiful mountain views of Glacier National Park, Lake Five is a perfect place to motor boat, canoe, swim, or fish. Note: Paul’s Memorial Fishing Access has a wonderful boat dock and ramp for lake access but not too much beach space.
Lake McDonald – South Shore Beach Near Apgar
Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park not only provides unbelievable scenery, it is truly an amazing lake for outdoor entertainment. At ten miles long and a mile-and-a-half wide, there are lots of nameless beaches to explore for swimming, fishing, floating, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding. If you do not have a watercraft or safety equipment for these activities, just stop by Apgar for day rentals.
Whitefish Lake – Whitefish City Beach
Whitefish Lake in Whitefish, Montana is a wonderful lake for all water activities. From water skiing and paddle boarding to boating and fishing, Whitefish Lake is a hotspot for locals and out of towners.
