Ski season is upon us in Montana and we couldn’t be more excited! Surrounded by backcountry and resort skiing opportunities, Northwest Montana is a skiers mecca. While Mountain Meadow RV Park is closed from October to May, outdoor recreation enthusiasts can still find plenty of snow-filled fun to be had. Whitefish Mountain Resort
Located just 24 miles from Mountain Meadow sits Whitefish Mountain Resort. With over 3000 acres for skiing, 300 inches of snow annually and 105 marked trails, Whitefish Mountain Resort was recently ranked #10 best ski resorts in North America by Ski Magazine readers. Blacktail Mountain Ski Area
Located 53 miles from Mountain Meadow RV Park is Blacktail Mountain Ski Area. Situated above the town of Lakeside, Montana, Blacktail Mountain Ski Area has terrain for the entire family. Backcountry Skiing, Snowmobiling, Nordic Skiing and More
While many skiers enjoy taking the chair lift up the mountain, some skiers prefer to earn their turns. Northwest Montana is prone to avalanche danger and it is highly recommended to travel with a guide or obtain avalanche certification before heading out into the backcountry.
